Shirley Pattyson

Born in Saskatchewan in 1936, I moved to BC in 1963 and settled in the Vernon area in 1964. I was employed full time at Consumers Glass in Lavington for 25+ years and retired in February of 2000.

I have no art degree but have attended many workshops with artists including; Julie Oakes, Peggy Moon, Boll Davis, Tom Steiner, Jo Parrot, Graham Scholes, Zalton Szaba, Harry Savage, Lyllian Christionsen and Allen Edwards.

I have been active in the Vernon O.A.L. and have just recently become a member of the Monashee Artists League. I work with pastels and watercolors and have dabbeled with oils a little as well. Last fall I tried my hand at wood carving with the North Okanagan Carvers and enjoyed the experience. My favorite medium so far has been watercolors.
