Marg Graham - August 11, 2003

Hello Lumby,
My name is Marg Graham and I live in Cambridge Ontario. My sister and brother-in law, Cliff and Norm Wasney live in Lumby. Ihave not had a chance to look at everything on your website. When my sister was back in Ontario visiting last year, she showed us pictures of Lumby and the valley. It looked like a very pretty area. Your website is very interesting and I like your Cable-cam. Keep up the good work.

Bonita Jo - August 1, 2003

Hi there,
Great website re:Lumby, except it would be helpful to know the local climate eg.
annual mean, july mean, jan mean $and days frost free.
We are wanting to purchase some land and the climate is a very important factor.
Thanks!
Jo

Marc Chouaniere - August 1, 2003

I just returned from 3 days in beautiful Lumby, and wanted to say how much I enjoyed your wonderful town. I was attending the International Norton Motorcycle Rally. Every person I met at every business and through the terrific Lions Club was extremely friendly and helpful from Vernon to Cherryville.I hope we weren't too loud in the campsite for the neighbours. The police escort of our 160 bike mild bunch to the O'Keefe Ranch was a special treat and many people were kind to wave to us. It made me feel very welcome. I wish I could have stayed a lot longer, and I will certainly be back. Thanks very much Lumby for everything. You have a special town.

Hi Lumby
My name is Melinda Lumby, and I now live in Cedar Pocket, Queensland, Australia. My immediate family were from Sydney. I was just browsing and came across this web site, and as I don't know any other Lumbys, other than my own family, I was interested in the history of your town, and also to see how many other Lumbys were in your guest book.
Interesting, thanks.

Elisabeth Lumby - January 15, 2002

Dear Sir,
My name is Elisabeth Lumby, I am a journalist, working for one of
Denmark´s leading - and the World's oldest - newspapers, Berlingske Tidende in Copenhagen. My family has many generations ago taken its name form a small rural village, Lumby, in the neighborhood of Odense in Funen,  where Hans Christian Andersen was born. I ran into your Lumby on the internet  a few days ago and am already thinking of coming over, maybe this summer. When is it the best time to feature Lumby, so to speak? I would be very happy if I could  get a copy  or two of the Lumby Valley Times.
Looking forward to hear from you, Elisabeth Lumby.

Doug Gamble - January 14, 2003

Hello, my name is Doug Gamble and I currently live in Sackville, New Brunswick. I think you have a great web page here and it sounds like a very beautiful place to live. I'm hoping that somebody can help me. In the summer of 1985, I traveled to Whitehorse, Yukon with the Army Cadet Corp. from Amherst, Nova Scotia. I took the Cadet Leaders Course and was there for six weeks. While there I met a "Kevin Campbell" from Lumby, BC. At the time we would have been 14-15 years old. If anyone out there knows where "Kevin Campbell" is, please forward my email addres on to him and let him know I'm looking for him. Thanks for your time.

Arden Seufert - January 11, 2003

Hello Lumby, British Columbia.

Recently, we passed through your very scenic village. I enjoyed your website and am considering coming back for the lakes , fishing, camping, and waterfalls. I love photography. However, I do have one question. I was through Lumby a couple years ago and stopped at a very nice Inn on the outside of town towards Cherryville. The question is: How come the Inn is shut down? I was looking forward to stopping there again and was disappointed that I could not relax after a long drive in a location that I really liked. However, I tried another location in the village, and it was shut down too. What gives?

Please send a reply. Arden Seufert.

Lori and Tom - January 11, 2003

Hello Lumby,  I was a resident of Lumby for many years, having raised all my

kids there.  Left 3 years ago when the last one graduated and miss home like

crazy.  Would love to hear from those I know if they ever get onto this site.

Marcie Good - January 11, 2003

Hello Lumby,

I'm sorry, I got this address from the town's website and I don't know who

will read this.

I am a journalist in Vancouver, and I'm researching a story for the National

Post about life in small towns. I'm wondering if you could help me out. The

story is about people who move to a small town from the city, in their late

20s or 30s, to start a family or just to enjoy the life. I am interviewing

people about why they chose their towns, and how it differs from city life.

It could be someone who grew up in Lumby, spent time in a city, then

returned.

I am fishing around for people to talk to. Do you know anyone who fits that

description? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Diana - September 23, 2000

Hello!
I recently discovered your wonderful web site on Lumby.
I have recently started researching my family history and that is how I came upon your site. My great-grandfather was Charles Christian one of the first settlers in Lumby. I have a photograph of him and his wife Emma (nee Genier). They had a daughter named Nora who attended school in Lumby. She was my grandmother. I have her Roll of Honor certificate for first rank in Deportment from June 23, 1899. The teacher signed it as M. Bell. Just wondering if the Lumby Historical Society has an information on M. Bell? Does Lumby have a museum? If so, is it online. I'm also interested in any photos the Lumby Historical Society may have in their archives. Thank you for any help you can give me,
Diana

Linda - December 2, 2000

Hi there,
I am currently from Sayward, B.C, (another small community) and am thinking of moving to your area. I am very impressed with your site. Informative and well displayed. It looks as though my son and I will enjoy living there. I do have a few unanswered questions though, the most important one I will ask and hope for a response. My son is mildly autistic and I am wondering what community programs are available for children with special needs. Looking forward to your response, and seeing your town.
Thank-you;
Linda
